Located on St. Anne Street in Bathurst, New Brunswick, movement.workshop is a dance school where quality dance education can be found. 

At movement.workshop we are a family. We are passionately committed to inspiring our communities' children to be the best they can be and offer the opportunity to learn the art of dance in a positive atmosphere.

We offer classes in various dance styles for all ages, and focus on fusing dance technique with creativity. With our small classes, we are able to provide individual attention to each dancer, encouraging self-expression for an unforgettable dance experience.

 

Whether you want to dance for fun or train intensively, movement.workshop has a program that is right for you. We offer Recreational, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive Programs. 

 

Parents are able to view their child's classes from the waiting lounge while enjoying a hot beverage, and witness the growth in their child's training throughout the year. 

 

Our dance studio features state of the art professional sprung floors made specifically for dance, a full wall of mirrors, an excellent sound system, and is equipped with ballet barres.

During the first semester, students work on technique which translates into choreography later in the year. Students of every age are a part of the creative process of producing the year end show. From the creation of movement, to the constructing of costumes, students are encouraged to be involved and be imaginitive every step of the way.

Erin Hennessy

Artistic Director

Erin Hennessy originally began her ballet training in Bathurst New Brunswick. She went on to become a competitive gymnast, discovering her passion for coaching, and teaching the art of ballet. The next 8 years were spent studying and performing in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New York & Quebec before returning to her home in Bathurst.

After studying Contemporary Dance at Concordia University in Montreal, Erin felt like she needed to give back to the city where she first fell in love with dance.  Erin wishes to share her knowledge and passion for teaching, choreography & costume design with others, and hopes to create an artistic movement within the community. 

Isabelle Azard

 

Isabelle's dance journey started at the young age of 3. Over the next 16 years, she studied multiple genres such as Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, American Tap, Acadian and Irish jig, Ballet/Pointe, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Latino, Social Dance, and African Gumboot/Jazz. Isabelle has worked with leading dance industry professionals, performed in numerous shows and competitions and has been perfecting her teaching since her early teens.

After graduating in Business Management from CCNB in 2014, she was recruited as a teacher at Movement.workshop. Isabelle is ready to share her energy, dynamic teaching styles and knowledge of the latest dance trends with the youth of the Chaleur region.
